The main journeys are

Day 1 London to Manchester.

Day 4 Manchester to Doncaster

Day 6 Doncaster to Leeds.

Day 8 Leeds to London.

The fare setter for the any permitted route is LNER and they have abolished return tickets. The only return tickets are those routed via Manchester.

This is where mixing and matching singles and returns between Avanti and LNER set dates don’t quite work.

Even if it was available, it wouldn't cover days 4 and 6.

There are some return tickets valid for this journey but they cost less than two singles each way between London and Leeds so I doubt they'll be mentioned here because LNER would be able to get more restrictions added to it if it were.

The next best suggestion is an Off Peak Single for London to Manchester on day one, and a Super Off Peak Single from Leeds to London on day 8. On day 4 use the outward portion of a Manchester to Doncaster Off Peak Return and on day 6 use the return portion and finish short at Leeds. If you travel via Sheffield on your outward you can obtain a change of route excess for the return portion of the Manchester to Doncaster Off Peak Return. Alternatively you can buy the higher priced ticket on route Leeds and ask for permission to use it via Sheffield, which is the cheaper priced route.
