Norwich - Cambridge - Stansted future ideas

The first Great Anglia arrival from Cambridge on both Saturdays and Sundays are booked to use platform 2.

With the current XC service now generally down to just 2 hourly, it's not uncommon to for Greater Anglia's Norwich service to use platform 2 when there's disruption.

Hopefully that will all change next December or May 2025 when XC are planning to restore the missing airport services. As you say though there are no restrictions on 755/4s using Stansted and unlike 170s can also use platforms 1/3 in diesel mode.

Would there be enough 755s to make Norwich to Stansted 2tph and Ipswich to Peterborough 1tph

Yes but would need to remove triple traction workings. Also it would be Norwich-Cambridge only for the second hourly working.

So that'd mean taking another Stansted 745 to Norwich and having more 720s to Stansted

Exactly. Keep them on the East for easy access to Crown Point & especially now tables are being fitted.

Hence why they need internal modifications.

It’s mainly a low cost airport so any seating is on par or better than Ryanair.
