Nottinghamshire ENCTS bus pass problem.

There has been an issue with Nottinghamshire ENCTS passes not working since Wednesday of this week and I see that this may now not be fixed until next week. My bus pass currently will not work on Nottinghamshire City Transport and Trent Barton buses and it also doesn’t work on the Nottingham trams. However, Nottinghamshire bus passes are working on Stagecoach buses. This issue is only affecting passes issued by Nottinghamshire County Council and not Nottingham City. I wonder if this problem extends to use of a Nottinghamshire pass being used outside of the county. Anyone on holiday this week and trying to use it in another part of the country may be having problems getting bus drivers to accept them if they are not scanning. Away from Nottinghamshire both users and bus drivers will not be aware that there is this current problem.

I think it's just passes issued by Nottinghamshire but no problem as bus drivers and tram staff are aware of it. I'm more concerned as a Nottinghamshire pass holder that mine may not work outside of the county and drivers won't be aware.

I can confirm it's only Nottinghamshire passes that aren't able to be read.

Not sure if it was the same problem but Stagecoach East Midlands were having a problem with Nottinghamshire passes last Sunday.

They were still not working this morning on the Nottingham trams and I don’t think they are working on Trent Barton and Nottingham City Transport buses. Mine worked with no problems on Stagecoach East Midlands and Stagecoach Yorkshire on Saturday.

Surely if the bus and tram staff are aware of the problem,why cannot the pass be entered on to the ticket machine manually ?

It's not uncommon for "out of area" ENCTS passes to have issues scanning on ticket machines, albeit less common than it once was. If it doesn't scan, just show it to the driver.

My Derbyshire pass refuses to work on Stagecoach Yorkshire services from Rawmarsh depot, all other depots (Holbrook, Ecclesfield, Barnsley and Chesterfield) work fine. It also didn't work on the Stagecoach CNL services I used a few weeks back. Other than the odd incident, I can't recall any more issues.

We at trentbarton do this via the ENCTS recording on ticketer

As posted above it happens fairly often with 'out of area' passes although not as much now.

My Nottinghamshire ENCTS pass has worked right through this problem on Stagecoach buses and I hear that is the case throughout the country. Most Nottinghamshire passes are still not working on Trent Barton, Nottingham City Transport and the Nottingham Trams. I understand that with the exception of Stagecoach they will not work on most buses throughout the rest of the country as I found out yesterday on Falcon Buses in Surrey. One driver waved me on with no problems another was somewhat grumpy and took some persuading even when I showed him the statement on the Nottinghamshire County Council website. According to someone that I spoke to from Trent Barton today it is a major software issue which is taking a lot of resolving.

But it is being worked on extensively with a resolution not far away apparently.

These are now being read and working how they should on trentbarton services.
