Just got back from a weekend away in Edinburgh. Travelled from Stevenage using NXEC 1st class which was the first time for 6 months and after reading some of the reviews on here recently was a bit apprehensive as we had some friends with us who I'd spent a while convincing that the train was a better option than flying; when travelling 1st class.
Have to report that the service was excellent, both ways. Coaches were as clean as ever and the coffee was brought around at least every 30 minutes.
We were on the 10.45 (10.00 ex Kings Cross) from Peterborough on Friday and the 12.00 return this afternoon.
Looking forward to my next trip.
