I've got the return part of an off peak Dundee to Penrith return. The quickest route is via Haymarket, but I'd like to go via Glasgow instead (to meet family there for a meal). Would the ticket allow that?

That's fine. You can either go:
  • via Perth and Stirling and then via Glasgow and/or Motherwell to Carstairs
  • via Haymarket/Edinburgh and then direct to Carstairs
  • via Haymarket/Edinburgh and then via Falkirk H/G, Bathgate or Shotts to Glasgow and then via Dumfries

My plan was to get the Penrith to Glasgow direct train (going via Carlisle and Lockerbie) and then get the Glasgow Queen Street to Dundee train. That'll be ok with my ticket?
