if nothing else though on a Saturday the last train out and back should stop as its a 150!

To what end?
How long would the passengers have in Newquay if they caught the train?

10 minutes. Obviously it wouldn't be of use for daytrippers. But it might provide a convenient train if you were making a long distance trip or might just be more better timed than the bus home.
