Unless things have changed reservations are unmarked on PKP so it is sensible to reserve to avoid games of musical chairs.
On newer EMUs there were electronic displays, but there are still plenty of loco-hauled carriages about.Unless things have changed reservations are unmarked on PKP so it is sensible to reserve to avoid games of musical chairs.
Or too cheap!Reservations are almost always recommended in Poland. Many PKP trains tend to be too short.
Yes, most IC/TLK trains operate with very high load factors - this will be exacerbated during public holidays and the day(s) between public holidays and weekends.I've checked Warsaw - Krakow - Zakopane and for the ICs it says reservations are recommended - does anybody think it's worth booking a few days ahead considering it's Labour Day in Europe May 1st and Polish Constitution Day May 3rd which would suggest it will be busy?
The electronic displays don’t work.On newer EMUs there were electronic displays, but there are still plenty of loco-hauled carriages about.
Sounds like our 197s. Though probably less extreme. Many PKP trains tend to be too short.
Again, sounds like our 197s.The electronic displays don’t work.
On EC143 there was only one corridor coach, the rest was open stock. I'd reserved a "window seat". In reality I got a seat better described as "not an aisle seat". Just a view of a plastic wall. Felt really claustrophobic. I'm guessing that the coach originally consisted mostly of table seats, with the windows sized to suit.At least the 197s are designed for some standing passengers. PKP intercities are full of compartments.
