I am currently sitting in 1D33 0825 Manchester Airport to Holyhead.

TFW states :

Due to a points failure between Bangor Gwynedd and Bodorgan all lines are blocked. Train services through these stations may be subject to disruption on all routes. Disruption is expected until 12:15 12/06.

We've been held up for a good 15min (since 1114 if RTT is to be believed) just before Llanfairpwll, and we just got moving again at 1129

This morning 13/6 quite a number of North Wales trains cancelled or stopping short at Llandudno junction, Chester, Crewe. Listed as "Signalling Failure" on RTT.

Last Friday 6/6 1A50 HHD-EUS lost an hour approaching Bangor due to "Points Failure" and ended up being turned around at Milton Keynes.

I presume there are ongoing issues and the single track across the bridge means you can't have single track working on the other track.

There are no facing crossovers to get you from the Up Main to the Down once you've left Holyhead. You'd either have to shunt back along a trailing crossover at Valley or Gaerwen (if either are rated for passenger use - I'd guess not), or run wrong-line all the way from Holyhead.
