That's not the info I was looking at, but to be exact the info come's from the WNXX forum however another latest posting is now saying 37 667, I will be very surprised if its not one of those two 37's.

Ah ok. Still sounds like someone's prediction though as opposed to fact.

Looks like the plan has changed once again!
37667 on until Thursday. A light engine move will be made from Crewe on Thursday evening and that engine will operate Friday/Saturday.
Again I can't say what it is, but most of you can probably hazard a strong guess as to what it will be.

Good morning, it's the last week of the train and loadings are looking good with some services already sold out. I work on the train and I've been told it's strictly £29 per person one way (£44 for two, £59 family) with no 'deals' allowed. If travelling as multiples of two you might get a better price booking online. The 1218 off Skipton is very busy everyday so walk up tickets probably won't be available on this train. Thanks for your understanding. Alan

I remember when people were posting on this thread stating that the service was aimed purely at normals and they weren't aiming to attract cranks.

How times have changed!

Money talks doesn’t it, and in a depressed tourist economy they were always going to miss that cash.

We had a good trip on Saturday. Well organised, clean, punctual, comfortable. Highlights for the boss:

Wine
Professionally grumpy friends of the line guide
Comfortable train with a good view
Pubs at each end

Low lights;

NOT a steam train

Only issues for me:
Beer. Poor choice - Smiths, Fosters, Carling. Come on chaps............................
Either too little or too much time in Appleby

There weren't many spotters on board on Saturday. It looked like generally retired couples. I don't think a one off spotters bashing day is a problem. I bet the behaviour isn't as good mind.

My first trip with 47’s at each end was something like 40% retired couples, 40% enthusiasts, 20% families. Think it could be a bit different this Saturday!

Agree about the high/lowlights though, apart from the steam train bit- that option is well catered for by other operators...

Well I expect Normal Tourist Numbers for the last week are dropping off now anyway, I maybe wrong but I think with have ended up with more trips with non double 47 than with.

They should know better with regard to beer.

The Nine Standards brewery is based near to Settle and does some excellent brews.

Normals drink fizz, cranks drink ale?
There are more normals that drink ale than cranks. Especially on a charter train !

There were a couple of customers in our carriage who wanted a beer and turned their nose up at the choices. They didn't look like cranks tbh. it is a lost revenue chance if nothing else.

its not like there isn't a huge brewery at Keighley who could supply or a small one at Settle next to the station ;)

Edit - minor grumble of course. The trip was well run and comfortable.

They used to have our own branded bottles of beer on the trolley. Don't know what happened to stop them but they are definitely missing an opportunity there!
