I am more and more glad every day that I don't have a digital Railcard. I have no problem with e-tickets but I am firmly against (what is essentially) an m-ticket from an app that has proven itself unreliable and constantly requiring updates, live internet connections etc.
I also don't see why I need a photo for a digital Network Railcard, when a photocard isn't needed for the paper/plastic version.
I'm like you, don't mind using e-tickets but don't like the digital Railcard.
The only way I would switch to a digital Network Railcard, was if there was a small financial incentive to do so. For example, if the price was £26 a year for digital Vs £30 for paper/plastic version.
I also can't use my growing number of Rail Travel Vouchers obtained through Delay Repay on a digital railcard, however I believe I can on a paper version obtained from a ticket office.
To be fair, I haven't heard good things about TrainPal.
The site is too 'gimmicky'.
'Spin the wheel' for an offer, only to find you have to refer 20 people to get that offer. An utter con.
