I guessed that one after it was mentioned by the driver following the incredible exploding 319 last week.

The day got off to an annoying start because the bog unit was 5 down when we got to New Street. We quickly rushed to platform 3 not having time to get any fodder. Whilst we ran down the stairs onto the platform an EH and rake of coffins pulled into platform 4. It was crowded with fossils. We jumped into the mk1 compo hoping to get some doss, content that the fill-in move was at the very least required. One we had the road we stormed out towards London.

Paul was reading his gensheet and was withered that 1S71 was set to produce a wagon, and was working on a number of scenarios. It was decided that the Kings Cross to York move was most likely to be outrageous and could even be a pair. We decided to get some doss until we were rudely awakened by the gripper looking to make sure we weren't effing it. Having been woken up it was hard to get back to sleep so we decided to do some headhanging. It was a dreadful journey.

As we made our way across to Kings Cross we acquired a few cling-ons who were essentially little more than Caning cowboys. We quickly checked the bible in the ticket office and acquired the required validity. Whilst quickly making our way to the plaform we were accosted by a Bert looking for directions but because of the farce at New Street we had little time to waste. As predicted the pair dropped and Paul was beginning to flap.

Once on the stock we updated our moves book and had a flick through neds news. During the first part of the journey the G-man hossed a couple of insects for being NV, and due to lack of ching they were forced to leap at Retford. Once we arrived at York we bailed and decided to view the following diagram to Newcastle as it was quite possible it could be massive. Sadly it had CAPE'd and we ended up with a 45 minute fester for the Doncaster adex.

Having been bowled by the Newcastle, a fill-in was the best we could manage. It was wedged but was not too bad for a spin - in fact almost rateable.

The day got off to an annoying start because the multiple unit was 5 minutes late when we got to New Street. We quickly rushed to platform 3 not having time to get any food. Whilst we ran down the stairs onto the platform a 47/4 and rake of air con Mk2s pulled into platform 4. It was crowded with old gits. We jumped into the mk1 compartment stock carriage hoping to get some sleep, content that the trip to get where you want was at the very least needed. One we had the green signal we stormed out towards London.

Paul was reading his information sheet/TOPS report and was upset that 1S71 was set to produce a class 45, and was working on a number of scenarios. It was decided that the Kings Cross to York move was most likely to be good and could even be a pair of engines. We decided to get some sleep until we were rudely awakened by the TTI looking to make sure we weren't travelling without a ticket. Having been woken up it was hard to get back to sleep so we decided to do some head out the window. It was a great journey.

As we made our way across to Kings Cross we acquired a few young chaps who were essentially little more than after anything. We quickly checked the national rail timetable/fares manual in the ticket office and acquired the required ticket. Whilst quickly making our way to the plaform we were accosted by a bloke looking for directions but because of the unwanted locomotives at New Street we had little time to waste. As predicted the pair of locomotives worked the train and Paul was beginning to get excited.

Once on the stock we updated our moves book and had a flick through Rail magazine?. During the first part of the journey the guard found a couple of fake bashers with no/invalid tickets, and due to lack of money they were forced to get off at Retford. Once we arrived at York we got off and decided to view the following train to Newcastle as it was quite possible it could be a good engine. Sadly it had been cancelled and we ended up with a 45 minute wait for the Doncaster advertised extra train.

Having been caught out by the Newcastle, any old move was the best we could manage. It was busy but was not too bad for a random journey - in fact almost great.
