Does anybody know of any good sites with 'British' railway webcams?

The only two I know of are the Stockport one and the Penzance one.

Not much running on that one though. Come on Fred give us access to the Staines one.

I like the Stockport one although I have been waiting ages for it to return.

When I took it it was a Virgin Voyager in Stockport Station. But it seems whoever is in charge of the camera can change a still image....

I know the most annoying thing about the Stockport webcam is when somebody else takes over control just when you were watching a train come over the viaduct. Then you seem to be looking at a pigeon.

Yes, that's always annoying :(. I once waited 15 mins on that camera for a train, one comes along, then someone pops up and starts looking at the pub across the road.

I only wish there were more cams available. Obviously there would be restrictions on actual cams within stations but a good suggestion would be one looking at the Durham viaduct for instance. I would have that permanently on, at least during daylight hours.

Just went on the Stockport Cam, was pretty good, had control for ages! :)

Saw several trains on the viaduct, thought the live departure boards didn't always appear to match up with what was happening in real life.

Sure I just saw a shed through Stockport station.

Ok, it's near Eindhoven, but very good location!

EDIT: Just saw an IC service fly through, barriers only went down about 20 seconds before it came, must've been doing about 80!

20 seconds? As long as that???

In Holland, the lights come, then the barriers come down, and a couple of seconds after they are down, the train passes....

The H&S brigade would have a major conniption fit if that was the case here....

If cou click on railclip gallery on the left, and click on the second one down "* Railclip 0014: January 2007. In a hurry trough the barriers. Time 0:01:36 min"

That's quiet a cool cam, the Dutch one that is. reasonably clear, with sound as well. Just been watching it, what looked like a class 66-based loco on a container train, & some jerk deciding to go thru the barriers on a push bike just before a IC goes over! Idiot!

They're yellow! lol :tongue3: Not bad 'aint it? The double deckers I think are InterCity, then you have the small local services, & freight on top of that. Just had a loco-hauled InterCity, think they run between countries. Shall be watching this for quite a while yet before bed lol! :tongue3:
