If this person was "innocent" and not connected with any sort of violence, I'm sure he would not be there in a large crowd of people who were causing trouble.

Oh absolutely, everyone in a group of thousands watching/hoping to have watched a big screen is obviously one of the ten or twenty lobbing missiles around ......................

Quite hard to move out of large groups when your hemmed in by police on all sides btw.

Just had over 500 Orange order march past here (twice) with more Polcie than usual and the entourage of football strip wearing supporters and protesters all yelling abuse at each other and chanting about 'You got a beating in Manchester" and such like.

The joy that is the Marching season in Glasgow.

They were told not to go unless they had a ticket. They defied that instruction. Their problem.

The thing about Glasgow orange marches is that they usually are considerate enough, at least, to do it at 9am on a Saturday when the place is relatively quiet. In Coatbridge, they do it at 1pm on a Saturday afternoon; usually cauing traffic chaos for hours.

The police don't appear to cover themselves in glory here though...

... surely that's assault?!

Thats probably why such riots happening, as they know most people wont batter the stupid bastards, if they did the above in video more often perhaps the hooligans may think twice about kicking off. Its a riot not a picnic in the park, spot of tea? Spiffing.

I dunno - 30 mins blocking all sides of Geo square..........anyway the timing of the parades is up to Strathclyde Police

I would hope that the cost of policing, mopping up etc is invoiced to the football clubs involved.

I did wholly enjoy The Sun yesterday purely because it had a blow by blow shot of one of these ****s descent into a world of pain - baldy shouting, baldy getting in coppers faces, baldy trying to get them, baldy having an alsation chew through his calf muscle, baldy on the floor screaming and bleeding, baldy being dragged away.

Appropriate.

TomB Assuming you mean the Manchester debacle, then no. Those events were no to do with football, and the fans brought circa £20million into the local economy, so the city will make it back.

Just like L&B don't get more for having Murrayfield. Stadium policing is paid for the by clubs concerned, but public order policing is from Police funds or discretionary funding by the Police Authority / Home Office. Manchester will have budgeted clear up costs etc into their city bid to host the finals.

Went down into town yesterday...all the litter has gone but the floor is still covered in crap and slime everywhere. The whole area stinks of beer and p*ss!

The source was AP actually. Someone just copied them to Photobucket and stuck 'em on forums. You'd lose points at Uni for that ;)

Apparently he is a convicted murderer. There is some justice in the world after all!<D

Just wish that the third rail idea had caught on better. Manchester Piccadily station would have smelt for a while. Just a pity that they'd have to replace all the fuses.... bloody footie supporters.
