Looks like the 350 unit drawings are all based on the refurbished /1 livery, rather than reflecting the actual liveries. Not that it's a major issue - having the subclasses (to avoid the /2s) is the most important bit!

Not really sure what all the hate is for the 350/2s, I don't find them that terrible for the runs that I end up doing on them. But we elected not to cover them separately due to their relatively short lifespan remaining with WMT.

There's a few niggles that we've seen since it went live earlier and that will be resolved at some point in the next few days.

Personally speaking I'd rather not be squished up against a stranger in 3+2 seating, and/or have to share a meagre amount of legroom with a stranger since almost all the seats are in bays.

I'd be one thing if it were only short workings that saw them, such as on local services around Birmingham, but they're regularly put on the Trent Valley service, which is over 2 hours long (a surprising number of people do the journey end to end).

I notice on the Liverpool to Glasgow service (specifically 1M75) there is no indication of which coach contains 1st class. Is it the same coach each time?

Looks like WMT has joined Know Your Train...

Great news! :D They told me in late 2023 that it wasn't a priority but that they may join it when they're ready to, and sure enough, in April 2025 :p

That's if that's the case for all of the 350/2s - I'm sure I read a post from a member who works for the operator saying that some of the 350/2s might be staying. Probably best if it isn't discussed here in the wrong section though :)

Great to see the allocations and illustrations! Attached are some example screenshots from today (10/4/25) of:

9) 730220 on 5Q41 1210 Rugby to Bletchley T.M.D. (illustration shows 5 orange+purple cars)

Not attached due to the 9-attachment limit:

150137 on 2S09 0945 Bletchley to Bedford (no illustration for some reason)

Overall, a nice surprise and I much appreciate Realtime Trains and Know Your Train as always - even more now, for when I go over to the area!

liking the LNWR unit detail pictures - the 350's look good. Sadly the LNWR premier traction does not have a graphic but we do have unit number assigned. I am sure the chugs will follow in due course! ;)

Excellent work as always!

Looks very nice, definitely a very welcome addition.

Also are there any plans to put the new Chiltern livery on the applicable 168s on KYT, or will that be done when the whole fleet has been refurbished?

In practice we wouldn’t need every freight company. Really it’s just GBRf (already on RTT), DRS, Freightliner and DB Cargo that are very relevant. Possibly colas too. Heritage is different because most don’t run over NR tracks.

RealTime Trains is absolutely wonderful, and invaluable, but if I could ask one question; With stations which are also ferry terminals is it possible to filter out the ships? At Largs, for example, the train times can be overwhelmed by the boats, and they are all shown as Scotrail services so selecting that Operator makes no difference!

I'd quite like to filter out TfW bus services as well.

It has now been confirmed in the relevant thread that all 350/2s are planned to leave West Midlands Trains by the end of 2025, so not visually distinguishing them in the illustrations does now definitely make sense.

Indeed. However it doesn't handle diverted services - simply showing an expected time of arrival at the bypassed stations (based on its last call before the diversion) until it reaches the other end of the diversion when it starts reporting calls again, and then switches to "no report" for the skipped stations.

How do you expect it to handle it? A London to Brighton could get diverted via Horsham but reverse at Preston park still , to get positioned for a later working (plats 4-8) . But if you chose to show some sort of cancellation on those intermediate stations you need to predict whether it'll reverse at Preston park or go straight to Brighton.

Far too many factors / predicting the future you'd probably get erratic or misleading results

The Network Rail feed will generally continue to report the working on its diversion.

Technically, it might be feasible, although not necessarily straightforward, to 'build the schedule' on the diversion as it progresses. I'm not sure how helpful it would be though, because it would be a whole lot more challenging to predict when the train might be back on route.

As it is, if the train doesn't show a report on RTT, then it makes sense to use a signal diagram site to see where the train has gone.

Yes, before I retired I had TRUST access and remember I could see the "off booked route" reports appear as the service progressed. Incorporating that data into the main train details screens on RTT as it came in would, I imagine, be a lot of work, but I wonder if some sort of separate pop-up just containing that data would be possible? No predictions required, just show its progress along the diversion so you've got some idea what's going on.

But as you say, it's not typically necessary since you can just find it on Traksy or similar if you want to (although of course there are areas not covered).

I'm not sure I've ever seen an off booked route update in the feed. It's possible they've dropped out of use now that there are multiple other reporting systems in place.
