Could somebody please tell me the number of a repainted East Coast Class 91 at Doncaster. It was in all grey and had no logos and was in the yard.

Thank You

(I have attached a photo)

I always forget how ugly the blunt end of a 91 is.

Could always go down the process of elimination. Alternatively you could just put down UID in the book to fill in when it is released.

This might be 91112
It had new bogies fitted at the end of July, taking a short test run out of Doncaster on 29 July, but was not repainted
It hasn't been seen in service since

Despite the fact it was in passenger service on the 30th July??

I've just got back from a week in the NE and I took photos of 101/4-6/8/10-14/16-20/24/5/7-32 in service
so it's not one of those.
That narrows it down to just 102/3/7/9/15/21/22/26.

It could be 91107 or 91122. I have just had a look on LocoScene and the last reported sightings were:

91107 - Doncaster 23/07/10
91122 - Doncaster 5/08/10

fotopic has most recent shots of each in blue livery at Doncaster dated:

91122 4th August.
91107 20th July.

Photo of silver unit is dated 12th August.

Is 8 days a fair time frame for the repaint? Or does that preclude 91122?

It must be 91107 because I saw 91122 in the yard at Doncaster doing emergency brake testing after being fitted with new bogies

Here is a photo of 91122 and its new bogies

The whole new East Coast set in the silver livery was at Newcastle last night, it worked the last train to York. Unfortunately didn't have the camera so couldn't get a pic, looked quite good but I bet it will get dirty quickly.

We all thought that when NX rolled out the white and grey, but it stays clean quite well. The 317's, 321's and the 3 class 90's that are done (oh, and 360 115) are ok (and Ilford are not the best at keeping trains washed! - even before the new washer.)

Emm I'm not sure which NX trains you might have been looking at on the East Coast but the HST's were never really clean at all, infact it was so bad that when DOR took over the running of East Coast they had to get cleaners to clean the side of the train by hand!!

The spiel that NXEC came out with when they introduced the new livery was something along the lines of "we'll clean them more often". Obviously this didn't happen, within a few weeks the HST set was dirty.

The line at the top on all trains has to be orange, as it is on the bottom on DC units

I think he is refering to the blue one below the orange cant-rail one!

I thought the same as you until I had a good look at the picture.
