As a foreigner can I just say that this is the most British thread ever?
That’s a very reassuring comment Chrysalis.
It’s good to know that despite all the usual terrible things going on in the world, we still give priority to considering the rights and wrongs of scones, cream and jam.

For me - Scone on its own, or with a little spread (Flora, etc.).

And for the other item infiltrating this thread - sausage and chips, with a pinch of salt (not the seemingly 50-100 grams that some chippies dump on them) - and definitely not mushy peas - vegetables are ruined when they are grossly over-boiled. Lightly boiled peas are preferable, much better taste - but it seems you can only get them at home
