Bert Biscoe, one time transport leader for Cornwall Council and motorists' bogey-man, is proposing a second station for Truro to the east of the current one
between the two viaducts. It would be closer to the city-centre ( although steeper) via Pydar Street.

It would be served by 'Mid Ccrnwall Metro' ( Newquay to Falmouth) services. This scheme was approved by CC yesterday.

Story in 'Cornwall Live' - can't link because on phone.

There was a siding here to serve the cattle market, on the down side, originally with its own signalbox but after 1925 replaced by a small exterior ground lever frame released by Truro East SB, although the old SB building survived until the 1970s as a mess hut for PW gangs and bridge engineers. The embankment section between the viaducts is about 150m long but in the up direction only about 80m of that might be easily available for a side platform due to a retaining wall falling away for part of the way along Hendra Lane that is very close to the nearest track. 80m might be enough for a local train however. Maybe they could have an inclined lift/funicular up to the railway level through Victoria Gardens. Not holding my breath!
