With a good weather forecast for the next few days, thought I'd head up north. Manchester had good accommodation deals, so that settled it.

Booked the day before travel, best price was to Thirsk, so I bailed out at York and headed over to MAN with a few stops enroute that the advance ticket allowed.

Arriving too late to fully utilise a day ranger ticket, I set about the stations out to Widnes.

My last trips to MAN were chasing Pacers (they were a novelty for a Southerner) so a day ranger covering the TfGM area fitted the bill for days two and three.

Still plenty left for another visit.
