Should "London Kings Cross" and "London St Pancras" be combined and considered as just one station?

Don't forget that if Crossrail 2 is ever built, there will be a joint Euston / KXSP station. So presumably then you would have to add all the Euston platforms to your numbering system as well!
assuming the new station does no more than serve kx stp one end and euston from the other then they are still fully separate entities possibly with a underground walkway connecting them.

I think that's the point greatkingrat is making with respect to the three stations KX, SP and KXSP - taking a more extreme example and applying the OP's logic to show how silly it is.

i have noticed a tendency for some to let there overactive minds go mad often in a direction thats not practical from an actual or financial direction ;)
