Anyone know how much a single (one way) fare is this year (2023) from Embsay station to Bolton Abbey station. Website just says that "Single tickets are available from our booking offices at either station on the day of travel". For comparison, the return adult fare seems to be £13.50 plus a £1.00 fee if booked online.

Single tickets are £7 no one Can't seem to buy day rovers anymore at the Embsay steam railway before the covid 19 pandemic you could buy day rovers in 2019 it only seems to be returns available.

A return used to be valid as a day rover. And could then be used as a platform ticket for the next 12 months.

That's certainly how things were, but suspect that the Embsay and Bolton Abbey railway have stuck with the ticket booking procedures that were introduced as a consequence of the COVID epidemic that hit in 2020.
