South Kensington Platform Defect

Trains are not stopping Eastbound at South Kensington on the District and Circle lines yesterday and today. The platform is taped off with red and white safety tape. Apparently there is a platform defect (according to the announcer) or a problem with the platform equipment (according to tfl website).

Does anyone have more info on the nature of the defect? I couldn't notice it from a brief visual inspection.

Only two remaining from 7 platform faces.
One will reopen with the rebuilding when it goes ahead.

Fortunately they now have planning consent so hopefully won’t be too long until they start.

I had seen from the plans that the empty tracks on the eastbound side by the north wall will be filled in and become the new platform to board eastbound trains.
