How many services went to Charing Cross ?
Two an hour until 2009How many services went to Charing Cross ?
At various points in their historyWhere did these services run to/from?
Caterham and Tattenham Corner - these lines originally belonged to the SER, hence they ran through. After electrification in the 1920s they were cut back to London Br in the peaks.Where did these services run to/from?
Probably, but only for race days.Did 8 car units appear to Tattenham
Not mysteriously. Southern had 319s for a long while and they worked services to Horsham.Sometimes a class 319 would appear mysteriously
Yes, they were those most common South Central division stock there in the Caterham / Tattenham period as those lines were DOO only. Then a class single class 455 or 456 afterwards
20 metres for each carriage - details available on the internet - same length as everything else which has run into Charing Cross for the last 35 years at least.I’ve always wanted to know the length of these units
Yes, to allow a more reliable Southeastern service. Then they were curtailed to London Bridge in December 2008
Where did these services run to/from?
Yes, but also one which had to make a conflicting crossing move at Spa Road Junction so probably best discontinued. It was a useful service for people getting to the west end
We've established that Southern didn't run to Charing Cross in the peaks. Some London Bridge services were indeed formed of a 455 and a 456. Indeed, Southern ran some services with 3 456s.Some services were used as 6 cars during peaks
Perhaps l'm being silly or a pedant but can l confirm that you mean post-privatisation and not original Southern? How many services went to Charing Cross ?
