Hi all,

Just wondering whether anyone could expand on why other operators never adopted the manual selective door operation (MSDO) on the sprinter fleet in the same way that SWT did with their 158/159 units. Surely the benefits could have been huge?

Because in most other places where there are 15x "long platform, short train" is rather more common than the other way round?

It is actually a common problem on EMR now. Especially since the 153s are gone as many platforms are only 3 coaches long. The Skegness route is really missing the option of 2x 158s and SDO. (I think they need to use local door now)
