Trident the Bear on X/Twitter reporting Optare Solo SRs 47748 (YJ10 MGE), 47812 (SJ12 ATK) and 47875 (YD63 UYU) are due with East Midlands. Allocation unknown

I drove past Victoria Street depot (Grimsby) earlier and couldn't see 19106/7 so if they are getting the seasider treatment, it may be starting

The seats on 19115 have been covered in the same fabric/leather/vinyl (whatever it is, I'm not sure) as buses new in "local" livery recieved. Perhaps they needed recovering and that was the plan going forward, at least until "slate blue" livery came along (I'll keep calling it this as I'm not personally sure about the company's new catchphrase).

I walked past at lunchtime and went back along the riverbank to see the back yard and there was no sign of them. The only place they could be is in the recesses of the workshop- the front door to it was closed but the back was open and I still couldn't see them.
However 21273 has been shunted/towed outside as seen in the photo below, sadly she is missing the lower front panel and driver's side window

I see that the Dayrider Gold and East Midlands Day Out tickets are increasing in price by yet another £1 from 5th April and will now cost £10.50. In January 2023, when the £2 bus cap was introduced these day tickets only cost £7.90. They subsequently rose in price to £8.50, then to the current price of £9.50 and now another rise to £10.50. That’s a big percentage increase in just over 2 years. For many passengers who need to travel outside the boundaries of the local Dayrider areas like Mansfield and Worksop, or in Derbyshire outside the Silver Zone, these now very expensive day tickets, are the only day tickets available.

They really aren’t bad value, especially if you buy the flexi-5 bundle and save 20%. Travel right across the East Mids area from Hull to the bottom of Lincolnshire for the price really isn’t bad. By comparison, a network wide day ticket with East Yorkshire will set you back £17.20

That will be nice. Good to see they are doing something like this as we don’t really have much open days in Grimsby
It will indeed. Saw a nice celebratory banner in one of the extra screens of the 'not in service' blind earlier :D I'd love to see a heritage livery repaint but I doubt we will though!

Sadly probably not. North East did a raft of heritage liveries to mark x number of years (30??) since Stagecoach took over, but sadly East Midlands didn't bother for GCT.....19007 would look particularly nice in orange and white - just saying!!

They might bring 19377 To Grimsby for the event as that’s got the Stagecoach Stripes Livery

Despite the "in your area" post and Google AI stating that the garage open day in Grimsby is on April 6th it appears it is actually in the early summer, as per the Route One article linked below.
The garage opened on April 6th 1925 and this seems to have confused AI!!

Couple of recent observations at Grimsby depot...
Last Friday (28th March), the workshop door was open, showing open tops 19106 and 19107; nearby a very sorry looking 190(possibly 73?) sacrificing parts to keep others in traffic; 19007 was receiving attention, and has been seen out and about since (even though she was threatened with withdrawal a couple of months ago); 21228 and 2 of the 250 liveried MMC saloons were also present for maintenance.

Today (Tuesday 1st April), the paint shop door was open, showing an Enviro 400 decker (I know not which one) being rubbed down from "beach ball" livery in preparation for repainting. The purple decker to the right has been in that position for about a week, it's possibly 19198 or 19200, but I'm not sure which.

I’ve gone past the back quite a few times and feel so sorry for the buses that sit there with missing parts

Just passing through and noticed the comment about buses laid up apparently having donated parts to keep other buses on the road. Only a large operator can do this and reminds me at least how difficult it must be for small operators to keep services running and how they could be held to ransom when trying to obtain replacements.
On a related matter, on Facebook there was a picture of a radiator that had to be replaced. Someone pointed out that the cost of replacement would require 3,000 additional passengers on concessionary fares.
Sobering thoughts and a reminder perhaps how well Stagecoach (as this is a thread about them) do to keep services running.

26255 has been painted into the dark blue “we’ve got you” livery according to Bustimes.org
24196 has also entered back into service this week in navy blue we got you livery. It also received the dark seat covers as well. I am not sure if 26255 has received new seat coverings or not. 11197 is also sat in Hull depot having also been repainted into we got you livery.

26255 should be staying at Hull as it transferred end of last year and I would expect will be mostly be allocated to the 350 as that was the purpose it transferred for

Yes this mentality is both good and bad but it seems like stagecoach don't always know the difference between times a new part is needed and times you can just swap off an old bus. Major units, engine, gearbox, angle drive, axles should definitely be salvaged if possible but it gets a bit silly when indicator stalks and light switches get taken and not always from scrap buses, sometimes from one thats short term VOR.

Trident on X reporting a variety of transfers from OpCos to the EM.

From Manchester for Grimsby (was originally Worksop)
19233/35/39/40/43
From Manchester for Worksop
19227/228/30/32
From East Scotland, presumably for the new Spalding IT services.

Significant fare rises in Hull today despite not a single mention of it on the Stagecoach website - what a shock! My return fare to Beverley for work has gone up a whopping 35% from £4 to £5.40, so I’ll be back in the car again from Monday.

And they're back!! Lolly and Splash have re-entered service as expected.
Photos show 16962 "Lolly the Seasider" and 16965 "Splash the Seasider" at Cleethorpes Pier on Saturday 5th April 2025.

Is the wanderer returning? 26255 is currently tracking on the 250, having taken over the board from 26268. 26255 had started out on a 350 board this morning, which is now being worked by MAN 24200.

As the 250s are all worked from Grimsby, without another convoluted swap later today, 26255 will be in Grimsby at least until Monday.
