Stagecoach claims there can't order them without the loos. It makes no since why there would order a non working toilet.:p

And it just gives the passengers something else to complain about. Some no doubt will see the toilet and then think it's ok to have a few drinks before getting on the bus.....

Five Volvo Olympians, S reg, are due to come from Cambridge to Fife in the enxt few days. These are S reg, and will be allocated to Cowdenbeath (2), Rennies (2) and Aberhill (1), and will see off some R reg vehicles.

Also worth noting one of the 2008 Optare Solos has had a repaint, and lacks side fleetnames still. The 5 Solos delivered new in 2008 to Glenrothes have never carried side fleetnames.

I take it Two old darts have been taken out of service from the Dunfermline depot since the reduction?

Yes, that's correct. However, the Oakley - Queen Anne High School buses, which required two double deckers, have been transfered from Rennies to Stagecoach Fife at Dunfermline. The reason for this is unclear, as Rennies depot is only 1/4 mile up the road from QASH!

That route does use Brand new deckers on it, with the No79 getting the older stock, Maybe its to try and push in more cash on to route 74, Ie new decker does 74/78 then does school run back to 74/78.

It still strange how Rennis operate school work in Glenrothes of all place.... www.stagecoachbus.com/PdfUploads/Timetable_29882_Rennies School services.pdf

Stagecoach have certainly taken the axe to the 747 Service between Inverkeithing and Edinburgh Airport.

The route has reverted to it's previous one cutting out Kirkliston and the frequency has been slashed even on weekdays.

Do I detect it is losing money ?

Wasn't it a half hourly route that avoided Kirkliston a year or two ago?

If it were losing money it'd be axed.

Service 747: Inverkeithing – Ferrytoll – Edinburgh Airport
Unfortunately the diversion via Kirkliston has proved to have a detrimental impact on the reliability of this service, and the number of additional passengers has not proved to be enough to justify the additional resources that would be required to continue doing so. Therefore the route of this service will be revised to once again operate direct via the M9 Spur. The Monday to Saturday daytime frequency will also be revised to every 30 minutes in order to better match passenger demand at these times. There will no change to the peak time, evening and Sunday frequencies.

It should also be noted that Citylink has revised its service and this new timetable from the 747 better lines up with its 30mins Edinburgh - Perth/Dundee route.

Perhaps something to do with roadworks on the M9? The 747 has been known to go via Barnton and Maybury from time to time. It may be left to the drivers discretion which route they take, depending on traffic.

Not strictly East Scotland (don't want to create a new thread for this 1 little thing), but Aberdeen are due some Hydrogen gas powered buses in early 2014. It is assumed they'll be gas powered Scania Enviro 300's, rather than the MAN Ecocity trialed by Stagecoach Merseyside earlier this year, but time will tell.

One of the new B13s for the X24/7 is carrying an advertising livery, in green, for the Unirider ticket. Saw it today when driving along the A92 to Dunfermline, so I don't know which one. Can anyone identify?

Thanks to faulty traffic lights, which worked out of sync at roadworks near St Michaels yesterday, there were peak period delays of up to 75 (yes seventy five) minutes through this village. Apparently the lights went on the blink again today, and stagecoach had reported the matter to Fife Council. Routes 94, 96, and the 99 group affected mega, with some minor disruption to routes 42 and X42.

Shame there were not kept in Kingdom, There could do with a few more newer E300 to get rid of some of the alx300

There are bound to be some fleet changes by the end of the year in Fife. 16518-16521 reach 15 years of age at the end of this month, as do all of the R reg PS. Glenrothes have most of these and many are still used regularly on the Kirkcaldy-Glenrothes services.

That not going to help get rid of the awful Alx300 will it ;) R regs PS are not used on the School routes thus there can continue to be used on commercial routes

The R reg PS could still be used on commercial routes but this is unlikely. The fleet needs to be as flexible as possible. I bet there are not many bus workings which contain purely commercial work. They are not low floor which also goes against them.
