Looking at the date of the registrations (8 May), I am leaning towards the possibility of there being some extra journeys or a modified Sunday Service.

I base this on seeing the Cumbernauld 343 in the first list, and neither the Abronhill (X25/A) or Clyde Fastlink (X19) appear in both lists above. The Cumbernauld 343 does not run on Sundays.

I am unsure whee this leaves the Stuarts 403/A as this (according to the SPT website) runs via both Seafar Road and Greenfaulds Road* between the Village and Town Centre.

*Albeit unscientific, the last few times I have had a run to the Town Centre and back on a Sunday, the 403A has omitted Greenfaulds Road. Unsure if it serves it by request only. Probably better for the SPT thread.

It is quite likely that it’s all related to the Coronation holiday, but both the X25 and X19 were included on the first list, of those that went through the ‘system’ on 29th March. See msg #564

Seems one the new Volvo BZL's at Kilmarnock is in the 66*** number series now as 66001 (31002/3 are still tracking as such but would expect will be 66002/3 if not already carrying that), bringing a new number sequence into use (excepting the LT's which are 61***, and previously used 60***/61*** for a handful of Merc mini's/single deckers in Newcastle years ago). Did Stagecoach operate a Dunoon-Oban (extended 486) service at one point?
I've seen a photograph of a vehicle, which appears to be a 486 in Oban, and a Dunoon-based vehicle operating it.

Middle/top: Obviously, the top needs to be large due to it being an EV and having a battery, but I don't think it looks the best. For some reason imo, in this photo it looks like one of those advert boards on top of the bus.
I personally think the E200EVs look better.
But I'd love to hear everyone else's opinion.

I’ll agree there, the 200ev’s look great. But BZL’s look brilliant as well.

Problem with single deck EVs is the "head dress" that they sport. The 7900e does it very well in my opinion and is a very attractive vehicle. The McGill's Yutongs less so as it looks like a cargo compartment they're carrying. The BZL does, I agree, look like the top deck has been lopped off but I do find it a far more attractive vehicle than the E200EV and, having rode both in Kilmarnock for comparison purposes, feels like a far superior product. It could just be because they're literally out the box, time will tell.

The E200EV does have the battery very visible, but I still think it looks amazing.

I think the Yutong hides it well honestly. If I wasn't a bus enthusiast, I wouldn't know if there was anything like a battery!

Saw a Stagecoach driver trainer bus on Balloch Rd in Cumbernauld today. This is not a Stagecoach area, it’s served by a local Dunns service during the day and Stuart’s all day with a service to Croy station.
Would Stagecoach run a driver trainer over a route they don’t operate or could it mean they are planning to introduce a route?

Not necessarily; I've seen driver trainers from other companies roaming around random areas they don't serve too, and a route hasn't been introduced.

What you will find is the trainer will be free to drive anywhere and will do so as it's not often you can just go where you want to go in a bus, probably found a good snack van or shop

Does anyone know if the 500 Dumfries to Stranraer route is subsidised? It’s a great route but sometimes not always that busy but it provides a lifeline connection to many areas along the route.

Last time I used it it was an uncomfortable E300. I recall a X75 service too, which started in Carlisle.

The X75 started in Stranraer with one outward journey to Carlisle in the morning, and one return from Carlisle in the afternoon. Followed the 500 route to Dumfries with some smaller stops removed, then heading limited stop via the A75 to Carlisle Bus Station. It was a commercial service up to a point when Stagecoach tried to get D&G Council to subsidise it, but instead it was put out to tender which SC lost to a smaller company, thereafter things got messy with at one time two companies vehicles running the journies on very similar timings.
