In 1955 there were 3 Stanier 2Ps 41900/3/4 allocated to Green Ayre. My understanding was that they were sent there c.1951 when the original MR electrics were withdrawn and before the adapted ex-LNW units were available for service, which I'm told was c.1953.
So if the "new" EMUs were in service from 1953 why were the 2Ps still there?

The fact that 2 of them (there were 5 in 1951-54) lasted till the end of 1959 when the whole class was withdrawn suggests that they had other duties, but I don't know what. Lancaster to Wennington?

The only one I saw was 41900 in the Morecambe area around 1959, although my 1958 Locoshed Book gives it at 85E Gloucester (Barn Wood).

It was transferred to Gloucester in 1957. In fact it survived on the WR until March 1962, whereas the other nine 41901-41909 were withdrawn at the end of 1959, as mentioned up thread.

if you mean goods then maybe
not passenger as Castle-Green Ayre was electrified

how about the Heysham boat trains after reversal at Morecambe?
No, Passenger to Euston Road via Bare Lane, which was not electrified.
