Track's still in situ, at least it was in summer.

With regard to the point that you make, the reasons why stations at both Hest Bank and at Bolton-le-Sands will not see them reopened is the same reason why stations between Preston and Lancaster will also not be reopened and that is because they lie on the line of the West Coast Main Line. There have been calls on threads on this forum over the past two years that I can recall, making similar tentative calls for both a new railway station to serve Lancaster University and for the reopening of Garstang and Catterall railway station.

A platform for Hest Bank could be put on the Morecambe line rather than the WCML so reducing the effects on capacity of stopping there...
I'd say this is the most farcical station on the network - technically open but isn't the track already lifted?
Given that there's still trains using it I'm pretty sure that the track isn't lifted. :P
I think there were calls to reopen Carnforth station's mainline platforms as well but Virgin Trains said they wouldn't stop there.
The curve towards Carnforth is only served by one train per day.
I think the point was to have a more regular Lancaster-Barrow service via Morecambe.
What about getting the Morecambe to Leeds trains to run from Lancaster to Leeds via Morecambe.
I think there were calls to reopen Carnivore station's mainline platforms as well but Virgin Trains said they wouldn't stop there.
Probably the only service that would would be TPE services to Wonderbra, and those are only a few per day.
