Good morning, I recently had an email from Steam Dreams advising that that are doing shorter circular Santa and Christmas tours in December, daytime and evenings and also next Summer from London. It does not say what routes they will be, but by looking at the timings and prices from £ 39.00 & £ 49.00, does anyone have any idea? I was wondering if they would be the Surrey Hills or even something shorter?

It's called maximising revenue.
A seat can be sold two or three times in a day even if the fare is much lower than one ticket for a full day out.
( 3 x £45 or 1 x £95 ) Expect other tour operators to explore the idea. Pathfinders did the same in the mid 1990's from Bristol to Portishead and around the Avonmouth loops.

From the departure and arrival times quoted for the evening diner I would suspect it will be a tour of "London Junctions". We won't know the route until MK Train Planning have produced timings. For most passengers, they won't care about where they go as long as they are wined and dined.

The Christmas and summer routes/timings may differ to take advantage of evening daylight in summer, etc. Surrey Hills is a proven route, and there are other 'circulars' which could be explored. Although it's true that some won't care where they go, there is a tendency to want to sell the trips on scenery, history, etc., especially in daylight.

You may find that North Pole Junction features prominently in the itinerary.

North Pole Jct it is, according to the 'Railway Herald' tours page. Full itinerary awaited, but claimed to be three 1 hour 45 mins trips per selected days in December.
