Hi All, I am looking at a journey from Harlow down to North Kent for a family member. They could go into London to change (or via Tottenham and tube) but I wondered whether it is possible to change at Stratford, walk through to Stratford International (a 5 min walk according to Google Maps) then carry on the journey, on a single ticket. Or would this only be possible by buying a return from Harlow to Stratford then a separate return from Stratford International (to Whitstable or Chestfield) on SouthEastern? All the journey planner websites take you into London. Thank you for any advice.

Both the stations you name have through fares from Harlow Town which allow travel on HS1 - these are the fares routed '✠ANY PERMITTED' with the validity being clearly defined by the alternative routeing of '✠NOT VALID ON HS1'. The 'Any Permitted' fare even allow the DLR to be used between the Stratford stations.

Thanks Haywain, that's good to know. So as long as it's 'Any Permitted' we can ignore what the journey planner suggests and change at Stratford? Thanks again for checking.

If you would rather have an official itinerary, just search with Lea Bridge as a via point, and it will give you the route you want.

Indeed.

Or Stratford as a via point.
Thanks Haywain. The journey planners are still trying to pull me into London - they then suggest Harlow -> Stratford -> (tube) -> Victoria -> Chestfield. But I can figure it out as long as the ticket is valid :)

If you use Trainsplit, or the forum site, you can specify more than one via point and can force a change, rather than just a stop, and that works with selecting each of the two Stratford stations.

Try using via Stratford, or even use change at Stratford International if using National Rail Journey Planner
