A few years back I used a Stratford to Stansted direct service. Was hoping to do so again in May, but there appears to be a replacement bus beyond Broxbourne. Anyone know if this a permanent or temporary arrangement?

I think this was changed during the last timetable change and now runs Stratford - Bishops Stortford. Not entirely sure about the replacement bus service, perhaps weekend engineering works?

The Stratford - Stansted service now only goes as far as Bishops Stortford, and runs half hourly as opposed to the old hourly service from Stratford to Stansted. Change at Tottenham Hale for the Stansted Express (NOT Bishops Stortford - that will add 30 minutes to the journey).

Of the 6 paths per hour available through the single track tunnel approaching the airport, they are now split 4 from the south and 2 from the north, a better balance than 5 from the south and just the one Cross Country path per hour from the north that there used to be.

As for the bus, surprised this is published already for May if it is indeed engineering work. It certainly isn't a permanent arrangement.

I have never understood why anybody would want to get the train between Stratford and Stansted. When I lived in that neck of the woods I always got the NX coach to and from Stratford - it was cheaper, quicker, comfortable and more frequent.

Travel sickness would win me over to train straight away.

I reckon they should route the Stanex via Stratford and Tottenham Hale, would open up a lot of onward travel options, access to DLR, Central, Victoria, Jubilee, NLL, GEML. But I guess its pretty mobbed out around Stratford to be routing 4tph round there, and also not very fast round past Orient Way and Temple Mills. Would be a nice idea, maybe 1tph via Stratford?

No paths at all in the peaks, and then you would most likely have problems pathing down the Lea Valley, never mind Stansted tunnel. Either that or have lop-sided departure times from Liverpool St. Keep it simple is favourite ;)

That, and it'd be even slower than it is at present...The current fastest journey time is 45 minutes from Liverpool Street via Hackney Downs. The first train of the day, however, is routed via Stratford and timed to take 59 minutes from Liverpool Street to Stansted. Somehow I doubt passengers would be impressed at a 33% increase in journey time just to provide additional connections at Stratford!

Some people just hate public transport, but most of them can stomach a train if they have to but when it comes to a bus its a no no

This only occurs Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. This is the third choice route with the second choice route being via Seven Sisters.
