I think that leaflets in general in the heritage railway industry have been in decline, with such high numbers of people booking on line they're only for a niche market.
I dunno, i always find entertainment rummaging through Motorway services leaflet stands. Theres always at least one heritage railway in there ;)

Yes agreed but it means that heritage railways have to market their offering in different ways to an audience who may not be aware of their existence.

If you dont have leaflets, then when prospective passengers go into their local tourist information centre (yes there are still some of those) then they arent going to see it and perhaps also importantly the staff arent prompted to mention it because out of sight = out of mind.

Some heritage railways seem to struggle with marketing. It isnt exactly " reader friendly" if your Facebook page is focused on the operations department.

True - though it's also offputting when places make their social media too polished / slick. There's a happy balance to be found.

The Kent part of the K&ESR is in Ashford Borough the largest Borough by Area in Kent..its Tourist Information consists of a rack of leaflets and a selfhelp computer terminal in the council tax office and the same in Tenterden town hall. The council website suggests visiting the railway for leaflets!

I could answer that but this is a family friendly forum.

Perhaps this is one result of the Wareham service?
