Fair point! Although they were in charge when the original ORCATS raid took place, and I doubt SWR would have gone down that road.SWT?
That's normal. It's colleagues from the same party supporting the one that has requested the motion.Amusingly very few of the current signatories represent constituencies served by SWT.......

LibDem MPs are after all rather thin on the ground in the SWR area and many of the local MPs have probably never been on a train so couldn't care less.
Agreed. One of Dorset's MPs used to work for SWT for many years and is generally regarded as knowledgeable on railway matters at least......Not sure about that; you’d be surprised how many London MPs take public transport, especially from outer London.
ORCATS raid? I don’t think this debate is specifically about the Bristol removal is it? This is written as a reaction to the wider Dec 2022 service reductions, I think.Fair point! Although they were in charge when the original ORCATS raid took place, and I doubt SWR would have gone down that road.
I'm thinking further out, eg my local MP (Bracknell) and the likes of John Redwood. Not sure about that; you’d be surprised how many London MPs take public transport, especially from outer London.
Chris Loder is a great advocate of railways & an ex railwayman.Agreed. One of Dorset's MPs used to work for SWT for many years and is generally regarded as knowledgeable on railway matters at least......

We are lucky to have him in parliament with personal access to those in power, & he is popular in the constituency.
I’d dispute that. Having used SWR yesterday on Reading trains in morning and evening peaks, I had a spare seat next to me on both the up (0715 from Richmond) and down (1750 from Waterloo). Nowhere near crush loaded even with the thinned out service.Through Richmond in the morning peak there is already crush loading. Taking into account that more and more people are inevitably going to be going back to offices between now and next December the measly two extra (stopping) services through Richmond are going to be completely inadequate.
Sorry, but I am not making it up. I have been on these trains. It's my own personal experience. A guard friend of mine also said there are loadings problems through Richmond.I’d dispute that. I posted on Friday, therefore "yesterday" was Thursday...Commuting on Fridays is significantly lower than Tuesday - Thursday. Try again next Wednesday and report back.
...or fewer trains on days of the week when it is quieter.Perhaps they need to run extra trains on certain days of the week when it is busier.

Well I was assuming on some days they could do with more trains and on the other days, they were running enough....or fewer trains on days of the week when it is quieter.
