Hello all

Long time lurker and first time poster

Apologies I have tried to search for this information both on the forum archives and on SWR but haven’t found a definitive answer as such.

For the first time I’ll be purchasing a monthly season ticket from Basingstoke to Waterloo due to the need to be in the office in London much more this month; a season ticket which includes a travel card. I have never done this before and I am unsure how the travel card component works on the underground network. In terms of the smart card would I just be able to tap in and out of the barriers at the underground station? I assume it’s a silly and simple question but I just wanted to double check as I’m rather anxious about planning and checking, especially when dropping this much cash in one go

All my thanks in advance

I have regularly been using one day Travelcards from Basingstoke on an SWR Smartcard for several months now. No problems whatsoever. Just tap to open the gates, as you would with an Oyster card or contactless.
