TFL Contactless for child of 12?

I am confused by the TFL website. My 12 year old granddaughter is travelling with her parents Wembley Park to South Kensington return off peak soon. A zip oyster is £15 which would give free travel but is expensive. Cash is £3.30 Adult contactless is £3.20
For simplicity, registering contactless cards owned by each of them would be ideal. Is there any reason why my granddaughter cannot register her own bank card and pay adult contactless?

You don’t need to register contactless cards, you just use them and an adult fare will be charged. Just use a different card from the ones her parents use.
