Remember the BLM protests in June? In contravention of the lockdown rules?

Did this lead to a rise in Covid infections? If not, it does rather weaken the lockdown concept considering the numbers involved.

Given the hysterical reporting at the time, if it had done, you can be sure we would have about it by now! Exactly the same with “Bournemouth beachgate”, which involved far greater numbers of people.

Quite clearly neither event has led to any “spike” of note.

Perhaps they were all wearing Sainsbury's jumpers?

Seriously though, the sooner people get a grip and realise that it's not the deadly killer virus we've been told it is by Project Fear the sooner we can stop destroying our economy and childrens' future.

Well we know there hasn't been a spike of deaths because of them.

For all we know either could have caused a lot of asymptomatic (or mild) cases, which might have gone undetected.

So, nothing worth shutting the country down for then?

Absolutely - just that the most important point is not whether these events caused cases to spike, but whether they caused significant numbers of serious illnesses or deaths. If there was a spike in cases, that should only worry us if it actually results in more serious outcomes.

That’s true.

But if 500,000 people can gather on Bournemouth beach and several thousand can engage in protests at close quarters, with no spike in deaths, that rather exposes the government’s cap of thirty at “mass gatherings” as a tad over zealous*!!

*Assuming their desired outcome is prevention of deaths rather than cases.

It's exhausting trying to get the message through to people who are mostly living in fear for no reason. The deadly killer virus couldn't even polish off our obese Prime Minister.

It would be in bad taste to say “more’s the pity”, even as a joke, so I won’t :).

It certainly hasn’t improved his competence!
