Wait at Twyford until 0106 to board the GWR service to Didcot Parkway which arrives 0132 Friday morning.

Don't forget folks, the line between Didcot and Oxford is currently closed !

As the rules state that "you should use the current timetable for the relevant day not including timetable variations for engineering works", should we not be proceeding as though Didcot - Oxford were open?

I was under the impression that we just ignore it as if it was open, as I believed we weren't taking into account line closures/emergency timetables?
For instance, with the Carstairs remodelling, which is scheduled to go on until at least June, I fast forwarded to July.

Taking advantage of the overnight rule, we depart at 0610 on Thams Travel service 23 from Station bus stop R2. We alight at Nettlebed, Green at 0651 on Friday.
We next board the 0718 Thames Travel service 23 to Wallingford (Market Place), arriving there at 0729 on Friday morning.

(There's way too many Market Places out there!)

Here you find an example of two different quizzes on the Quizzes and Games forum with differently-worded views on such a matter. On the quiz with a vast amount of postings (over 204,000) going back to 2011, "The next station is" quiz, there is a section called THE RED SECTION in the quiz rules of that quiz (second posting on the thread) that specifically names embargoed line sections such as that stated above and is kept updated by the forum quizmaster team.

Time to find a pub for a couple of pints of "Old & Filthy" and a bag of pork scratchings, because we're here until 1854 when we board Stagecoach S2 to Cheltenham arriving at 1915 Friday evening.

Our only options here at this time of night involve the 94, or to Gloucester on a 10. We therefore take advantage of the overnight rule and return at 0637 in the morning for Stagecoach West service 10, from which we alight at Podsmead (Crypt School) at 0700 on Saturday.

Puzzled as to how we've ended up at Didcot again so soon, we try to clear our befuddled mind by leaving the station and boarding the 1224 Thames Travel X2 service to Oxford, which we alight at Westgate when it is 1325 Saturday afternoon.
