We enter the railway station and board the 1908 London Midland service to Jewellery Quarter, arriving at 1934 Thursday evening.

We also see one of the last T69 trams heading south - maybe we can board it one last time?

No, we can't (now).

We walk the .1 mile to Vyse Street bus stop, where at 19:51, we board NX Bus 74 towards West Bromwich.

We then decide to get off at this terminus; West Bromwich Bus Station, stand V at 20:19 the Thursday evening

Always remember to end each posting that you make on this quiz with the "running quiz day"

In this case, it is Thursday evening.

It's a quick transfer down to the Midland Metro, where our T69 is sat waiting. We're just about able to board it, the hustle alarm sounding as we do so. We arrive into the terminus of Wolverhampton St. George's at 2050 Thursday night, next to its replacement, the Urbos 3.

We departed at 2028.

Does Great Bridge have a stop on that system?

Also we arrived at Great Bridge at 2037, so a 2028 departure is not feasible.

We next board the 2027 NXWM service 74 to Great Bridge (Providence Street) that arrives there at 2037 on Thursday evening.
The only rubber-tyred option from here at this time of the evening seems to be the 74 bus, so we make the 0.5 mile walk to Dudley Port Railway Station and join the 2100 London Midland train to Birmingham New Street, arriving at 2115 Thursday evening.

As we start yet another night of going around London's night bus network, we catch the 00:24 N18 service into the city, alighting at Paddington Green at 01:10 on Friday morning.

Paddington Station is just within the .5mi walking limit, so we walk there to see what's going on.
15 minutes after we arrive here, there's still a train leaving, heading West to Reading.
We take this 01:34 train, and drive it all the way to Reading, enjoying the nightly scenery. We arrive at 02:29 on Friday morning

How on earth did you get a train key and permission to drive it?

Anyways, we enter the depot and get some sleep in the cab, hearing the clangs and clutters of Reading depot. We get awoken at 0554 0434 to drive the first service to Gatwick, but another driver is at Guildford to take over the train. When we arrive, we find the time is 6:40 5:09 on Friday morning.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I get the impression that Quakkerillo's first language is not English and that he means ride or travel on.

I am sure there are trains departing Reading (with a 'normal' timetable anyway) before 0554

There are enough members on this forum who qualify to drive these trains. As this whole journey is written in the "we" form, I took the liberty of assuming we're combining all our strengths into this journey, so we're fit, and qualified, to both drive, and ride trains. :)

We are probably all qualified to drive cars - but in this game we can't.

but it's more the timing issue I was questioning.

This was discussed earlier. If services exist, we /can/ use them at night, but it isn't necessary. Taking a night's sleep as a break, before heading off in the morning was allowed.

So we're at Guildford, where we take the 06:55 train to Portsmouth Harbour.
We alight at 07:51 at Havant station on Friday morning.

I don't think this game is about 'having a rest'; it's about keeping moving. Furthermore, there have been times where we have played all night. The only reason we should be calling it a day is if there are no more onward connections AT ALL from that location.

In response to a query about "night rests", may I quote the above posting example that was made recently about a similar matter.

I will second BOTH the points made in this posting.

I personally don't agree with this, and I also don't remember this conversation, but never mind.

There are. At 0434 and 0524. Why did we take the 0554?

Anyways, we enter the depot and get some sleep in the cab, hearing the clangs and clutters of Reading depot. We get awoken at 0554 0434 to drive the first service to Gatwick, but another driver is at Guildford to take over the train. When we arrive, we find the time is 6:40 5:09 on Friday morning.

So we're now at Guildford at 0509 on Friday morning.

We then board the 0537 South West Trains service 2G08 to Cobham & Stoke d'Abernon, arriving there at 0556 on Friday morning.

Luckily the marketing & branding gurus have not got to our corner of the internet yet, but when they start to hit us with catchy taglines, the quizmasters could usefully re-name this one:
"The Transport Game (UK) - It's Not About Having A Rest".

Anyhow, the buses don't appear to come out of the depot too early in this part of the stockbroker belt, so to avoid a long wait we board the next train, the 0626 SWT service, alighting at Wimbledon at 0649 Friday morning.
