We'd have to wait an hour for the next bus back towards Southampton (02 minutes past the hour), so instead we board the 0916 Bluestar service 8 to Hythe (Pier), arriving there at 0937 on Monday morning.

With just this hourly service and a once-daily college route, we head back north on Bluestar service 9 at 1139. We alight at Totton (Rushington Roundabout) at 1233 on Monday.
I'm not boarding the 1039 as, despite it looking to be the same vehicle, I'm sure that there are ways that it may not...!

With absolutely nothing of any interest here, as we're too far away from the airport, we'll have to wait for the 0059 Stagecoach Manchester service 43 to Chorlton-upon-Medlock (University Shopping Centre), arriving there at 0138 on Tuesday morning.

We walk one stop back up the Oxford Road to the Aquatics Centre bus stop (3 mins) as our next bus appears to be a limited stop route, which is something new for the Oxford Rd, I believe!
We board Stagecoach Manchester service 142N at 0155, alighting at East Didsbury (Parrs Wood E3) at 0221 on Tuesday.

Taking advantage of the overnight relaxation rule, we take the five minute walk to the railway station and board the 0541 Northern service 2F13 to Wavertree Technology Park, arriving there at 0643 on Tuesday morning.

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
I meant in terms of other onward transport....
There was the opportunity to speak with the night porter staff at the Etrop Grange Hotel, especially as that time was well within the time of the overnight travel relaxation rule. As one who has visited that hotel many times for business and leisure, I can certainly vouch for the standards set by the hotel management.

Howsoever, in this instance, there was an onward service bus service, to which I note that one was used at 0059 from there to Chorlton-on-Medlock
