There was this working back to Eastleigh East Yard early this morning - same headcode (6G26), engineers' train with GBRf 66706 and 66717 on it.

Maybe coincidence... but could well be your loco(s). I'm not familiar with the geography down there - is it feasible something could be working overnight between Worcester Park (where your working went to) and Raynes Park, then head back to "base" from there in the morning?

Thank you both, and yes - I imagine there may have been a possession overnight given that the train seems to vanish at Worcester Park and re-appear four and a bit hours later at Raynes Park.

Sadly, both 66s are dud for me, but still a less common sight here. Most of the time it's 73s and 37s and on the nocturnal NR related stuff - not that I'm complaining, especially if the 37s open up to full power opposite me...

Don't have diagrams I'm afraid, but re. 68010 it moved up from Wembley to Crewe on the 8th and has been in/around Crewe Gresty Road and Carlisle Kingmoor since, so not sure it'll be in around London this w/e (unless heading back south?)
