Yes, the York-Scarborough line is usually pretty good for Class 68/Mk5A sets on a weekend. No problem at all with the list, I hope you have a great tripOnce again a huge thanks. Looks like a weekend in N.Yorkshire.
Thanks. TP07 was paired with 68025 in the past so I assume it is still the same pairing and so I assume this means TP07 is back at Longsight ?.68025Realtime Trains | 5Q32 1144 Gascoigne Wood Sidings to Longsight Car. M.D. | 28/09/2023

Always a bit of a moveable feast I’m afraid and there’s currently a rest day working ban in place. The TPE services today have been heavily disrupted.I'm hoping to 'bash' my first TPE 68 tomorrow (Tuesday 3/10/23); could someone in the know give me a heads-up on which services are likely to be 68-hauled?
Thanks in advance!

Haha! Thank you, I'll bear that in mind. Not the best week to choose to lose your TPE 68 cherry - probably better to wait until the week after when more trains should be running.
Well as predicted I was unsuccessful - only one diagram in operation, starting too late for me to catch it. Another time!I'd forgotten the RDW ban - thank you for the diagrams, I'll see what turns up tomorrow.

Oh no! Wishing you better luck next time. Today was such a poor one for workings.Well as predicted I was unsuccessful - only one diagram in operation, starting too late for me to catch it. Another time!
That’s a good question. The previous round of mods at Wolverton (where the most visible change was the Harting connector being switched for an LPA one) the sets were usually there for about a week to 10 days.Anyone know the usual repair/mods length of time for the yaw dampers at Wolverton?
End of day 03.10.2023Thanks for the nfo.
With the rest day working ban (today) where is a likely place for the unused sets - more at Scarborough ?.
Thanks. All I need is the invisability shield for a visit to Longsight then !.Oh no! Wishing you better luck next time. Today was such a poor one for workings.

In addition, there’s always a chance that 68031 might switch sets and be back in service soonerThanks for the info. At least I’m aware of a possible timeframe. Trying to snag 68031 and it’s set, in service, before the end in December.
Most welcome and best wishes for seeing the sets you needThanks. All I need is the invisability shield for a visit to Longsight then !.
The optics of binning new stock were never particularly good, even worse now I would say.I wonder if part of re-distributing the borrowings from HS2 might have an impact on the TPE Mk5s ?.
There’s a maximum of seven berths at Longsight for Class 68/Mk5A sets. Seven sets were present this morning and a space was required for 68032/TP13 which is working in on:Is it true that TP07 has slipped back to Gascoigne wood - why so soon ?.
Oh. I forgot its the RDW ban this week iirc ?. Hopefully back to "normal" next week ?. Seems TPE can very quickly send a set off to Gascoigne wood (across the Pennines) - is that the location of choice in a hurry or is it that Crewe is full also ?.There’s a maximum of seven berths at Longsight for Class 68/Mk5A sets. There have been many cancellations on TPE this week.
I saw it while enjoying a pint at the Sheffield Tap tho’ to be fair, I heard it first! Is it true that TP07 has slipped back to Gascoigne wood - why so soon ?.
You are correct with all of those points. Four is usually the maximum number of sets on Crewe South Yard and currently there are TP02/03/08/11.Oh. I forgot it’s the RDW ban this week iirc ?. The withdrawal of the Nova 3 trains (Class 68 locomotives and Mk5 carriages) in December, which currently operates on our Manchester Piccadilly – Scarborough route, will simplify our operation and significantly reduce our training backlog. We are in active discussions with the Department for Transport, Rail North Partnership and Transport for the North as to the future deployment of these trains.
1535. 185145 today.Question: I have to be in Manchester tomorrow (13th) for work and then travel to Leeds. Is the 1530 Manchester > Scarboro a hauled set?
thank you - I will just chance it as it is the best timed train for me.1535. 185145 today.
However, the simplifier further up suggests it should be a hauled set.

Looking at what finishes in the platforms at Scarborough tonight, it looks like the two starters should be hauled sets, so maybe better luck tomorrow.thank you - I will just chance it as it is the best timed train for me.
hopefully - i haven't travelled on the hauled services enough for various reasonsLooking at what finishes in the platforms at Scarborough tonight, it looks like the two starters should be hauled sets, so maybe better luck tomorrow.
