Sick man for mugging an 87 year-old but why on earth was he walking round with £100 out in his hands "He was walking along Welland Road with the money in his hand when the mugger struck, snatching all the cash." - Need to be more careful than that.

Good job the FCC driver was there to help out, not many people would intervene these days :)

See it all the time at cash machines and the Post Office, especially on pension day. A lot seem to wander around either with the money in their hands or at least on show for a while before they put it into a purse/wallet. Guess it is just a throwback to times when you didn't have to be that careful with your possessions.

I too know the driver only too well, hopefully come October he might be lucky enough to get a Gold Excellence award from FCC as he certainly deserves one.

Good on him!

When I saw the photo, I did think the inside of a 365 looks a lot more comfortable than when looking at it from the platform. :)

Well done that man!

I realise that inevitably these days, a person's actions often are analysed with hindsight, however the fact is an ordinary member of the public took a stand against something that wasn't right, and it paid off -SIMPLES! :D

If more people did it, then these cowardly crooks may think twice. It's only because most people can, and do, do what they like that we have such a messed up society.

I know the outcome could be a knife pulled and a stabbing, but I think it's more likely that anyone that stands up to someone would scare them off.. especially if they get support from others.

It's difficult to encourage this sort of thing though; as you don't want to tell someone to do something that gets them badly hurt, or worse.. but it would be nice if people made that decision on their own.
