Some direct links provided by the Southeastern rounders can be done faster by bus. Eg, Eltham to Westcombe Park takes 15 mins on the 286, but 45 mins by train

As being a person who does not do steps well, the 36 is much more easy and quicker than the tube from Paddington to Victoria in London

Barnsley to Doncaster, on X19 direct is around 50 minutes. On the Train you have to change at either Meadowhall or Sheffield making it slower.
That doesn't count as you have to change by train.

Otherwise there would be examples of two nearby stations on seprate lines requiring a long route between them by mutiple train being slower than a bus.

Perth to North Queensferry (occasionally)

06:00 train from Perth arrives 07:16 at North Queensferry

06:10 X56 bus from Perth arrives 07:22 at North Queensferry (A9000 on the Forth Bridge).

Marginally quicker.
