Trying to get to Grimsby (from London) as cheaply as possible

I am assuming the London-Scunthorpe leg is by coach which drops/picks up in Doncaster Road, Scunthorpe. Does anyone know how far this drop off/pickup point is from Scunthorpe Railway Station?

The journey is rather urgent, but I am unemployed hence the necessity for cheapness.

Not sure where you've got your times from but this sounds like Megabus/Megatrain, the Megatrain website gives:

Departs 08:15 London, St Pancras

Arrives 11:35 Scunthorpe, Doncaster Rd
3hrs 20mins
1 seat = £9.00
Schedule Details: London to Scunthorpe
Location Arrives Departs
London 08:15
East Midland Parkway 09:43 10:05
Scunthorpe 11:35

The journey is by train from St Pancras to East Midlands Parkway then by coach to Scunthorpe.

Be warned!: The Scunthorpe Doncaster Road stop, is at the large Tesco Extra - a couple of miles from Scunthorpe station itself!! :(

From what I can see the station is 0.6 miles from Tesco Extra or roughly 1 mile from Doncaster Rd!

There is an 1143 bus (Stagecoach service 90) from Doncaster Road (Tesco) into Scunthorpe town centre. It'll give you about 10 minutes to walk to the station if you get off at Mary Street.

No, it's slightly further than that. About 2.6 miles, as it's right on the edge of the town.

Admittedly this is a bit more pricey, but is saves the inconvenience and additional cost of having to take an extra bus in Scunthorpe.
