Can anyone advise of the difference between the £6.80 Adult Day Ticket and the £4.40 All Zones Metro Day Ticket?
(from here: http://www.nexus.org.uk/metro/tickets)

The cheaper one doesn't seem to allow buses, but still does Ferries? Although they both allow rail, one seems to offer a bit less than the other.

I am going to Newcastle later this week and I am mainly intending going on the Metro and possibly any Northern Rail services that are valid. Not overly bothered about using buses unless necessary

The £4.40 one is only valid on rail between Newcastle and Sunderland.

The £6.80 one is also valid between Newcastle and Blaydon.

As has been mentioned above, and for the sake of clarity:

Metro DaySaver (all zones) is valid on Northern Rail Central - Heworth - Sunderland only, because of the cross-honouring agreement between Northern and Nexus on this route only
It is also valid on the Tyne Ferry. (the Ferry is operated by Nexus)

It is not valid on any bus service (except Metro Replacement buses where relevant), nor is it valid at Manors, Dunston, MetroCentre or Blaydon National Rail stations.

In case it comes up, only ALL ZONES Metro DaySavers are valid on the ferry, Zone C or B&C are not.

Network One Day Rover is valid on all regular public transport within Tyne & Wear, including all bus, Metro, rail and Ferry services, with the exception of the N-prefixed night buses. Because the map on Northern's trains is not clear, Wylam, Chester-le-Street, Cramlington and Seaham are all outside of Tyne & Wear, and thus the rover is not valid there.

To confuse things slightly, there is a Network One Explorer ticket which is valid as far as Berwick in the North and Scarborough in the south, but is only valid on the Metro and Newcastle - Sunderland rail line, but allows travel by buses in most of the region.

The £4.40 ticket should suffice, and is now valid all day (peak fares were abolished at the start of the year).
