Whether England or Italy win, we will still have to carry on as normal the day afterwards. The drawback of England progressing as far as they have done is just a convenient excuse for never-ending media hype that they afflict on the public at large.

I’m already nervous about Sunday. I feel sick thinking about it!

I listened to a bit of the post match stuff and a couple of podcasts and enjoyed it all (felt a bit surreal to be honest). I’m now going to ignore anything to do with football until about an hour before the match just for my own sanity really.
As far as the game goes what will be will be. We’ve clearly progressed a long way over this last few years and even if we lose tomorrow night just getting ourselves into these positions is something to celebrate.

But it was not the English FA who committed the offences, but the England supporters. Could not UEFA have also imposed draconian strictures that would have an effect on the England supporters by cutting the numbers of them allowed inside the stadium to watch the match?

A bit unfair to punish the vast, vast majority of supporters who did nothing wrong.

It will be at that point when England will face a ban in participating from events such as this.
Have Bulgaria been banned from any tournaments following their racial abuse of England players in the last few years? That was far worse than anything England supporters have done in quite some time, and was not taken seriously by that nation's governing body nor their government.

Booing a national anthem is crass, and ultimately will only encourage the opposing team to raise their game... but it certainly isn't something that causes any actual harm. All this pearl-clutching over it is frankly pathetic.

What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld

I'm not having a go at anybody here so as to make things clear, but did English clubs get barred from participating in the European club tournaments for five years after the Heysel Disaster in 1985 caused by an element of Liverpool hooligans?

Well no, that would affect income for UEFA and that just wouldn't work for them.

Regarding the fine, we've seen fans giving monkey chants and the relevant associations haven't even been fined that much. If people truly believe booing a national anthem deserves harsher penalities then you'll have to penalise half of Europe. The idea that we are the only country that does it is franly hilarious.

A completely meaningless game played by two sides who probably just want to go home.

Whoever remembers the team that came "third"?
Quite! As was the case in the World Cup in Russia.

(Belgium beating England 2-0 to finish the 2018 World Cup tournament in the coveted 3rd place position).

That's quite the false equivalency there. Kudos. ;)

A very charitable take from north of the border!

Don't mention it.

The FA or Football Association is the original hence it needs no Country Identifier unlike all the others -Scottish Football Association et al.

It's time you claimed another Trophy to go with your World Cup, for surely as the pioneers it is your birthright.

Countdown minus 11 hours to the start of a mass outbreak of nervous exhaustion in England.

The BBC are feeling very smug and self-satisfied as last night, in one of those "BBC adverts", they were trumpeting "The BBC has the Men's Singles Final at Wimbledon and the EUFA 2020 final" on their channel.

I only watched half of our third place play-off in 2018 and the place I was in was only as busy as you'd expect for a normal Saturday bearing in mind that the world was obviously pretty normal back 3 years ago!

In recent times, have either FIFA or UEFA ever imposed any type of strictures on any national team football associations or the national team themselves specifically over the matter of racism?

Just relatively small fines (which are more symbolic than punitive) and being forced to play behind closed doors (a punishment that was somewhat hollow for the last 15 months). No bans or suspensions, though as Bulgaria are pretty rubbish, such a punishment would be equally pointless in this instance. They've fallen a long way since the days of Hristo Stoichkov.

Since England won the World Cup in 1966, Italy have been winners of:-
1968 ... European Championship
1882 ... World Cup
2006 ... World Cup
One can only but hope that their "Ultras" do not appear with mayhem in mind, whatever the final result is ...

I hope that Djokovic wins the Men's Singles Final, at Wimbledon today, as he is facing an opponent from Italy in the match and the Italian supporters of both sports will hope their country "does the double" in the Greater London area today
