Validity of LU 1-2 advance ticket on pick up only service

If I were to hold a LU Zones 1-2 to Colchester (COL) advance ticket with a departure of Stratford (SRA) (XX:37), would it be valid to start from London Liverpool Street (LST) on the XX:30 (the same service as on the ticket, just one station early still in Zones 1-2), even if the train is marked as pick up only at Stratford? I found that Euston Square to Liverpool Street on the tube is easier and nicer than Euston - Tottenham Court Road - Stratford, and seating is much more available when boarding at Liverpool Street (Stratford can be manic at times).

This was a journey I have actually already completed and my ticket was unchecked for the whole journey (whoops!!) so I was never able to get real confirmation on this - the barriers at LST me through fine. Is the LU Zones 1-2 ticket even valid on National Rail services? The NR website didn't say anything about it, and the itinerary given by the forum ticketing site was a little undescriptive for the London transfer. I do have a bit of feedback to give about that!! I'm unlikely to make a similar journey again, but it would be good for reference.

Yes, the journey from London to Stratford on National Rail is interavailable with London Underground tickets, and vice versa.

You're not changing between two tickets, but rather two types of validity on one ticket, so the fact it's pick up only is meaningless in my view.

Just like how your train doesn't have to stop at the edge of Zone 6 if you travel with an Outboundary Travelcard — but you do automatically switch to using the zonal validity of the ticket instead of the day return portion when crossing the boundary.

Thank you, that is very good to know. Will definitely be starting from Liverpool Street if my itinerary ever specifies Stratford so I can get first pick of the seats.

Do you know if there is a good way to post feedback for the forum's ticketing site?
