Hi all...

As promised in an earlier thread, I have started to recover some railway/LUL programmes recorded off the TV on VHS onto the computer! I now have a couple of programmes on my youtube channel, and hopefully some more to follow soon.

Starting with "Night Shift on the Northern Line", first shown back in 2001.

Got a documentary on Great Western Trains which I uploaded to my channel earlier from 1998. Various Panorama programmes, a really old dispatches from the late 1990s to name but a few!

Brian Valentine retired in early 2011 after about 35 years on the Underground.

Just finished watching the great western trains one. Loving the hybrid IC swallow/GWT merlin livery :D

Wow you have an impressive collection, taking me back with the vintage adverts at the start ;)

I still have a VHS tape (Scotch re-record not fade away :D) about the Yorkshire Pullman on a journey northwards in the middle of a bitterly cold winters day with snowfall that made the journey rather time-wise much over the scheduled time, but the views of the rail staff and the regular business commuters were very illuminating. There were good shots of the meals being prepared in the on-board kitchens.

Documentary on Giles Fearnley, the then MD of Prism Rail, spending a week on the frontline with WAGN staff in the Cambridge area! Lots of NSE liveried 317s and 365s, plus near the beginnning, AC Slammers at Fenchurch Street! Shown in 1999.

Here's another one...
The Gravy Train, first shown in 2003. Paul Kenyon investigates the upcoming privatisation of the Underground, which will cost taxpayers across the UK £1billion per year. Meanwhile, an undercover investigator gets a job working with a track maintenance firm, armed with a secret camera, he discovers the serious malpractice from colleagues, while they are supposed to fix a sleeper in a Piccadilly Line tunnel!

Would anyone be interested in the Britain's worst driver series? Going off on a tangent from rail programmes, but I've been recovering Britain's Worst Driver (2003) from the tapes.
