What is happening with the Royal Mail 325s left at PRDC?

Split from

Two were visible at the end today, 325001 and 325015.
That would indicate some shuffling around of the individual units, via the reception sidings, has taken place.
A couple of weeks ago, 325005 was the only unit in Platform 2 that would have been visible from outside PRDC.

Would they have been hauled by a shunter or moved under their own power to facilitate this?

If i am correct i don't think there is OHLE in the Willesden PDRC so they must have been shunted

My mistake willesden PDRC is wired , I must have been mistaken with these sidings here.

On the topic of these sidings does anyone know what wagons are in them as there seem to be a few very neglected wagons and carriages sitting in them.

Brent Sidings. Been disused for several years now, don’t know why as Wembley Yard is usually short of space. The ‘neglected wagons and carriages’ are Royal Mail stock.

Weren't they controlled By a Signal box that is now demolished , isn't that the main reason they are disused (Attached image of the signal box shortly before demolition in 2012)

Hope someone makes use of them.

Strange that they haven't been sent for scrap like the rest.
This is precisely why these six were retained.
After the final Mail-carrying train from PRDC ran last year on a Friday, a 12-car train ran empty into Platform 2 on the following Tuesday, in the early evening.
At the time, I thought that was a little strange, as there must be copious space to store them elsewhere, if they were going to scrap anyway…

If someone could download and post those photos from Facebook, I’d be interested to see them.

(I don’t do Facebook and I would not be able to access them directly, as I’m currently in China)

The first few units that went for scrap were apparently defective with no incentive to repair them, not so sure about the other batch from Mossend, perhaps they just didn't want them or perhaps they were incurring berthing fees. Those at Willesden are of course under cover and apparently are in full working order (on Royal Mail property), so perhaps they are being retained "just in case".

The six units at Willesden have been sold - they are no longer Royal Mail property.

Is this anything to keep an eye out for perhaps?

It claims to be a Varamis Rail path so I suspect not. It will likely be one of their 321s.

However, if it is Varamis that got the 325s…

We’ll have to wait and see.

RTT shows it as departing from Platform 5, which is impossible as that road is no longer wired (and there are obstructions that make that road too narrow now).
That used to happen when we had the Orion train. When it had actually departed, RTT showed the correct platform.

Interestingly, a path is shown for a Varamis departure from Platform 2 on Friday, running in the same slot as RM used occasionally for PRDC to Shieldmuir.

Varamis have bought the 325s.

Two x 321s (by sight). Sorry no numbers I'm afraid.

Was wondering what's happened to 325005 since you can no longer see it from the country end of the DC lines , 001 is in it's place now
It would seem that the 6 individual units at PRDC have been moved around via the reception sidings, to facilitate the rebranding.
If the reshuffling resulted in two units in each of platforms 1,2 and 3, the public would be unable to see any of them from the Lioness/Bakerloo line
