I really like those - nice.

Mrs Christmas decided to give me money - and, just as I was perusing the websites of my favourite retailers, she showed me John Lewis' site and she commented that we need a new main oven and - "look at this Bosch one, that's in the sale on Christmas Eve". So my Christmas "present", involved buying us an oven. Woooo....

Latest for me was Hornby's Rebuilt W1 in BR green with late crest, a secondhand Bachmann Branchline's MK1 Pullman Bar car in BR Corp Blue and Grey and three Lima Class 92s, included 92001 with a certificate!

Well, you can’t argue with the practical value of an oven, but yes I see what you mean :D

A nice mixture there and all streamliners look pretty special :) Any reason for so many 92’s?

Another planet...
I've received this three plank wagon for Christmas. Whilst it is entirely inappropriate for the period I'm modelling, it does tick the "Half Man Half Biscuit reference" box by being a Cammell Laird wagon, a nod to the Cammell Laird Social Club LP.

I plan to hide several HMHB "easter eggs" on my layout: a Transit van branded "Plumbing Strategies"; a car inconsiderately parked on a pavement; etc...

Perhaps a Hoover or Dyson would have been a more interesting domestic appliance?

A couple of new arrivals. Graham Farish 374-778 Mk1 NBA coach, which I managed to pick up close to RRP on eBay. These ones in particular seem rarer than the GUVs, so I'm happy to have found it.

Secondly, Kato 10-1558. A 701 series AC EMU introduced in 1993 in 2, 3, or 4 car sets, with this variation being the /0 subclass which was built for narrow gauge lines. The pink livery denotes it as being based in the Akita area in the prefecture of the same name, which I think it is quite understated and looks really rather modern. Always had a soft spot for two car EMUs - I would snap up a 456 in a heartbeat.

That bug sounds nasty but looks fantastic.:D Doctor Sun Chariot prescribes a dose of weathering!
2mm models these days, astound me with their fidelity of detail.

My latest acquisition (other than darned oven - see earlier post) is a Hornby Hawksworth Brake Composite, maroon.
I have always loved those models and it's an excuse for a "through coach" on one of my consists.

You're telling me! That's some lovely locos there!

I had a delivery today from a job lot purchase I saw going at a good price - should keep me busy for some time to come...(and I started a BY Van yesterday already...). Challenge will be in jigging the transfers for the CCTs to avoid dupes, but I should have a good parcels rake at the end, but could do with some Vanfits to slot in...

Oh my, that 101 driving car brings back memories. Is this available ready-to-run? I have a few Mk2s that I attempted to paint in that livery back in my younger days. They're in a box under the stairs and it has probably been more than 30 years since I last saw them; the thought of having to dredge up my teenage re-paint attempts fills me with dread!

Yes, Bachmann have produced the Kyle line observation car, and associated green and cream mark 2s, in both the Graham Farish range in N scale and the Branchline range in OO.

Thanks, although I really wish I hadn't asked the question now... Would someone confiscate my bank cards now, please!

I regret to inform you that they do the green and cream W Highland line Mk1s as well :D

Nice! I do love a good kit wagon! Those look good and PD models are well tooled. I'm halfway through a N Gauge Soc. SeaCow at the moment....not the easiest, and those damned etched handrails are fiddly.....<(

Latest arrival is an EFE Rail SR Booster electric locomotive. Nicely detailed and runs well, especially like the relative ease of changing the headcode discs. A lot cheaper than some of the other locos out there as well.
Currently running with a rake of Maunsell crimson & creams, plus a Pullman and a couple of vans, recreating one of the Victoria to Newhaven Boat Trains

Very nice indeed! Approve of the (very!) Southern Region rake behind too - am currently making one of the BY Brakes myself.

An unsurprising Scottish theme again........
Firstly, probably my last ever purchase from Hattons arrived today
20240112_232526.jpg

Also, I picked this up on eBay.....a Dapol Ltd Edition for C&M Models in Carlisle.
What's not to like about a locomotive that is also a fine Speyside Malt Whisky? ;)
